Literature Text

I had wings

And they were strong

Together,

We soared over the tallest mountains

And hovered on the headwinds

Together,

We chased the sun

From its rise to its set

Then at night,

Our feathers caressed the stars

And brushed dust off the moon

And when armies came to raid our treasures,

We toppled the front line in one glide

With a single thrust,

We blew a whole batallion to the ground

When they came to strike us,

We batted them away like pests

And with our talons, we flew down

and struck the arrogant King from his horse and to his deathbed

But despite their strength

They were lost

Stolen

Taken

Raped

Not by the hand of Vengeance

Nor Hatred

Nor Lust

But by one we called Love

As is the way with their kind,

Such love was an envious one,

Wanting only to take for themselves

What they covet of others

Nothing like the love we once shared

So now I sit below

Without Flight

Without Hope

Without Love

Without Wings

I was in, let's just say, "a mood", the kind of mood that only someone like Maleficent, the wingless fairy queen, could relate to

I began to lament, then decided to put it into Maleficent's words

this is for those who too are not able to fly   ...v______v
